@Adie do you or have you ever lived with a Great Dane?
On a serious note.
I assume you are referring to the K9 variety.
I have had several pet dogs, the largest being two Alsations who came up to about waist height and could easily carry a small child on thier back (don't do that to dogs or children) it's just a turn of phrase.
Both were very lovable and dosile, loyal and great for keeping your feet warm when it was cold, however if they did lay on your feet you would soon end up with a dead leg due to their weight. Lol.

Hmm. I think an artful adventure would be best. First, I would return to somewhere when I could listen to Ella Fitzgerald sing somewhere small and live...a jazz house in New York or something. And then back to witness a performance of Titus Andronicus at The Rose or other Elizabethan theatre. I would happily remain in Elizabethan England and die of the plague.
Titus Andronicus?! Well that puts Firefly in a whole new light...pie anyone?

Winning east of England strongest under 90kg and winning Mr England novice bodybuilding.
How does one win "East of England strongest" ? Is it just one category of lift or a series of events? Does it involve pulling tractors?

Multiple events. Log lift max weight for reps, barrel run, farmers walk, deadlift max weight for reps, weighted yolk 25m run max weight etc. no at that comp we had no pulling events.

My best event is log lift, I have very good strength on over head pressing. Hardest for me is farmers walk. I have nerve damage in both hands and I simply cannot grip like many of the the others.
Still won though lol

@Firefly Did actually have a Great Dane. 9.5 stone and as soppy as you could get! Although he managed 9 years old, would love another but they rarely survive much past 6 years old, and couldn't go through with the loss that often.

Just read about your dog. I understand your reluctance to get
Another it is very hard when you have lost one. But you have probably given him a good life. The time he had with you. If things where the other way round what would you
Think about the life you had

I recommend having 2 or 3 of them, spaced 3 or 4 years apart. That way when one crosses the bridge, you have the others to support you through mourning.

My childhood piano teacher had 3 great danes. Winston, Odin and Rocky. Winston was the eldest, and always used to come and sleep at my feet while I played. Really, he was the reason I played. When he passed, I was heartbroken. He wasn't even my pet. But he certainly was a good friend. Two or three lessons after Winston passed, Odin came in to listen. At first he just sat by the door, or paced by the window, but week by week he came closer. Eventually, both he and Rocky came to keep me company during my lessons.
