This is the common Cavendish Stalkbill, which is often found in the wilds of your kitchen counter, feeding on fruit flies.
They young are typically green, maturing to a mottled yellow coat.
Many of this species are culled as the plumage takes on a deep brownish hue.
It is held by some ornithologists that this colour mutation is an attempt by mature Stalkbills to camouflage themselves among the lunch bags, old mailers and whole wheat bread bags also found in that habitat.
But they are easy to spot by the increasingly dense cloud of fruit flies attracted to its stalk-bill.

Tomorrow, if I get round to it, I'm going to think about procrastinating, but only if I post this first.

During the last weeks snowfalls a guy got hold of his neighbour and said "Your son had a pee in the snow outside my house last night".
"Theirs nothing wrong with that is there?"
"Well he wrote his name in the snow."
"Oh come on we've all done that!"
"Yes but it was in my daughters handwriting!"
