Never done so, never recieved so, apart from cane at school and belt at home, required on minimal occasions and effected behavioural change, as intended.

Sexually, do not want to, can not condone violence to women in any form, totally abhor it and men who get off on it: not sure I could respect a lady that expected or wanted violence. Spanking/caning etc. to me is an element of violence.

I hadn't realized there were people who also felt so strongly in opposition to spanking. Although, I suppose it is natural that there are people on every side.

It is a kink completely foreign to me as well. I also find violence/desire for violence or to enact violence shocking and often frightening. But as a person curious about all things that make people tick, I enjoy learning more about how people enjoy their pleasures.

Your focus on aspects of consent and communication between spanker and spankee is interesting.
Pain is addictive. (I tend towards self-inflicted pain through climbing/swimming and so on, but certainly pushing one's limits is intensely satisfying)

You describe it as an escape from responsibility. I think bondage is very similar in that regard.

Personally not my thing, either giving or receiving. The receiving part probably because I am a wimp From an outsider's point of view, if people want to engage in spanking that is fine I just think is important that both parties are in agreement on the level and know 'safe' words etc.

My career required me on occasion to deploy explosive aggression and extreme violence consequently outside of this I have never wanted to hurt any sentient being. I am not naturally aggressive but training enables you to compartmentalise.

training certainly has shocking power over us...it is very true.

Have your feelings towards violence changed because of your career?

No I only required to use it in the line of duty when part of diplomacy by other means or covert support of law enforcement. Never had to use it in civilian life. Part of the training is to be the quiet man until going noisy.
