Getting hungry while fasting.

Currently sat at the 30 hour mark on a 36 hour fast trying to sleep but my body hasn't realised I'm trying to do it a favour.

It'll rain later so the neighbours won't have to wash it again lol

I thought they were actually going to ban bonfires.. and in some parts of the UK they were trying to stop people using log burners in their homes.. absolute madness
Have a bonfire after 6pm tis mental on the 5th November lol

Getting train or event tickets free because you're with your disabled friend, even though you would both still be going anyway even if they weren't wheelchair-bound.

This is for a family member. Waiting 8 months to get a surgery date only to finally get a call saying the surgery is in another months time.. Getting to that day and the appointment is only for a blood test, then the surgery is 10 days later. Day of the surgery (This Morning) up early to get to the hospital for a 7.10am appointment with hopes it would be sorted swiftly and that we got told we were 2nd in the cue for surgery, after waiting four or five hours, others being seen before us, we get told that a certain team doing the surgery isn't here yet which was strange and were moved to a separate room to wait. Still waiting after nearly 8 hours.

I know our hospitals and the staff there are busy but still. The thing is they could have done something about it 10 months ago but decided to watch the cancer grow until it needed to be removed..

somehow...it isn't...

Your solidarity is honourable. Even though your loved one is not getting the care they should be from the NHS, the care you give them is precious. I hope that surgery is successful, recovery joyful, and life continues to bless you with time to create more good in each others worlds.

To add to the what feels illegal

Sods law.

The moment I posted that, they came to take her in for the surgery..

Reminds me of when I was little waiting for a bus (timelines were a bit depending on the weather) and she goes I bet that bus will come as soon as I light a cigarette, before she does we wait a minute, nothing. So she does light up and the bus comes round the corner, me being a young chap I just laughed and said let's get on the bus.

They wouldn't let me stay with her for the surgery, she was also being kept over night so I had to leave. Towards midnight she calls and says she's hungry and needs to have a smoke.

Just found out they couldn't remove the adrenal gland because the cancer has spread too much, like I said they knew in January and waited till now and it's too late. As if they couldn't predict that with the history of her having cancer wasn't enough to know they should have removed it while it was operable rather than now being unable to operate on it.

Try to keep your chin up it’s easy to say I know but sometimes as difficult and traumatic they are still precious to remind yourself you are being as supportive as possible and providing comfort.

Risking eating Cadbury flake in bed with white cotton sheets. I hope the cleaner doesn’t get the wrong impression when she does the laundry. Oh fuck it better put the machine on myself before she comes

At 59, 5 years ago she was told she had a years expectancy with lung, chest and lymph node cancer. She also had a stent put in because of heart issues which at the time was mis diagnosed because the appointment was done via video call (in lockdown because 'covid') and the doctor said it was an allergic reaction like hayfever... She then proceeded with triple chemo, radio therapy and immunology treatment for two years which has had her basically bed ridden since and she's gone from 64 to 114. I left my job last December because I wanted to be around her more than I was as her carer. And even though her oncologist has been there for her in and out of hours via the phone her and every other medical practitioner from every hospital she's been going to for the past 5 years that has been 'looking after' her has let her down.

Their option after waiting ten months to 'watch' what will happen and leaving it to late to remove.. is more chemotherapy, which if she decides to do she's not strong enough to go through.
