Very few things do - books have a much larger scope and time to develop character, atmosphere, plot etc etc. but the greatest triumph of the book ls your imagination. We the reader can flesh/expand/invest into a narrative as we are part of it in a way. A TV show or film is good in that it can reflect the book- but it’s flaw is you are limited to the creators vision when this will conflict with our own.

My 2p worth anyway
