In answer to your question , yes the site works fine I presume rather than from a technical or logging in point of view you mean do people chat and / or meet , yes it does sometimes happen.
As with all dating or chat sites there are a wide variety of people who are not all looking for the same thing. My advice to anyone is keep your expectations realistic and dont assume that just by signing up you will have instant success. I would suggest creating a profile which says a bit about yourself , what you are looking for and a recent pic.

its not happend for me yet, but real people are hear, it takes trust to meet folk you do not know, care and attention must always be taken into accounnt

A reminder that this is predominantly a 'chat site' the presumption that people here will want to meet you is one made yourselves.
Plenty do meet from here however there is no promise of that.
Could you have been looking for a hookup site? Try one of those apps if so.
Men that register on here expecting meets is not realistic. It's also overbearing at times for many members who are here to chat, on this chat site.
