It simply depends on who I'm with. When I'm in my own company, I probably prefer the coast - I love the sea and the beach.
But....
I'm also fond of shopping in cool bookstores, or other small fun shops. I love food experiences, the noise and the neon lights of the big city, but all that must be shared with someone.

Do you settle for less?

Yes I do. Today I settled for a salad, when what I really wanted was a burger and a load of cheese.

Do you put up with things because to do something about them would create too much work and difficulty?

Like many I think, I have a tendency to procrastinate - but also like many I think, the 'fuck it' moment will be reached at some point.

Buckets tend to be plastic these days, and disintegrate if left in the sun, tend to use 10litre emulsion paint containers instead (and they're free).

I don't think it is easy but necessity dictates that I need to be able to do so, so I do it frequently

Funnily enough I have had, yes. My bike ride to work and back was a joy of puddle and pothole avoidance. All my clothes are sodden.

Sadly, I have no garden. However, I do live less than 100 yards from the beach, so can't complain.
(well, I can complain, and do so a lot, but not on this issue)

I don't enjoy gardening, but equally I don't like paying for it. So garden is basically half arsed.
