Thread: Yes, I do think it is incumbent on any user to not only read the first and most recent posts, but to familiarize themselves with a thread, its rules, culture and purpose. But I also appreciate that that takes time, and so I also think it is incumbent on veteran members to welcome, guide and be gentle with new friends. And for all members to be conscious of the diverse needs, desires and quirky personalities of anyone who stumbles into a rabbit hole like this.
