I really don't know, maybe some will stay.
Either way I know that you can get incredibly close even if it's a platonic relationship. We are only human, and it hurts like crazy if the person disappears. I truly understand that you miss him. I think that in some contexts, there is not much difference between the relationships here or out in the real world, where friendships can also come and go.
