More of a red myself maybe decent burgundy but cold Chardonnay more than acceptable if it’s hot

No, I would probably be drinking a reasonable claret, alternatively a bottle-conditioned beer — never ever that overly present overly gassed eurofizz that is so prevalent. However, drinking whilst cooking on a very hot barbeque, or other open air source (pit fires where prevalent and I did train people to use them safely) is very irresponsible even by my standards.

Turn gas on, turn centre knob to the right untill it clicks and the gas lights, turn on the other burners, close lid, let come to temperature, open lid, put food on, close lid ornot depending on what's cooking.
Works for me.
