I do agree heels are great fun to wear. Like many types of movement restricting clothing (corsets, kimono, strapless dresses) I think because they affect ones posture in such delightful ways. You have to focus a little more to balance, and be a little more careful about how you move, so you become slightly more conscious of your physicality while wearing heels.

I don't consider heels empowering per say. In fact, quite the opposite, I feel quite useless in them. But then having someone carry your heavy things or hold your hand on the stairs and so on, does make one feel attended to. The same, as you can't walk with the same speed, having someone match your gait/speed, is rather lovely. And the risk (tripping, snapping a heal etc), should you have to run for a train or something, is something a little thrilling.
