The transition isn't easy. Like quitting any addictive substance. But perhaps consider for yourself why the lack of sex is so distressing. Maybe there is a gentle way to find balance or perhaps something altogether new and satisfying.
An interesting outlook you have there. Do you not feel unattractive or unwanted at all? It'd feel like that wanting to be as close and intwined with that person had gone and I'd be feel like I'm sacrificing a large part of one of life's most instinctive and natural pleasures. I think it's because I've known such riches, that I'm satisfied to live with this sort of intimacy poverty.
You must really love your guy so that's fair - it just doesn't feel reciprocated or he has his own reasons for not wanting to let loose on you that perhaps need exploring further
