Server unable to take my pics

Hi wider community and the office. I have tried to load an avatar pic but the message being received is the server is unable to use it because picture to large for server.
Also once again in PM I am unable to attach a photo after successfully being able to use the icon the other day. Nothing wrong with my phone.
Any suggestions or tips on both subjects,

When you select the pic set the image size to medium it will work fine then

there are size restrictions.
2MB for forum
i think 10 MB for chat

i forget what the avatar is, but it is small..500b?
