Pics too large?

I cannot upload any pics as the site keeps saying "too large" - I have over 100 pics that have been uploaded to a few similar sites without issue, this site's size restrictions seem pretty severe, how do I get around this issue?

Edit your pictures so that their either smaller or more compressed, or both.

I've tried that - until there's barely anything left to show, sometimes. Out of over 150 pics, I've managed to upload 5, and I had to cut those down to sizes considerably smaller than the originals

Try resizing, rather then cropping...
