If it makes you feel any better, Covid has scuppered the opportunity of potential meets over the last year. Its also easy to get ghosted on a site like this, but it happens across all social circumstances and it's tied to the way we view the world.

Yes. I've been stood up a couple of times, and it really sucks.

But, I still enjoyed the feeling in the run up to the meet, and that feeling of ensures possibilities. It was still a thrill, and felt so alive.

Just means, when it does come together, it's all the better.

I imagine a lot of people who come to sites like this, especially younger people, get off on the thought of meeting up but ultimately not the meet itself. Still, pretty rude and discourteous to not turn up or to ghost, especially if someone has travelled or gone to expense in some other way. Just say to someone that you're no longer interested. It's an anonymous forum, after all.
