Right click the gif from the website or search engine of the gif you want and click on 'copy image link' so it takes it directly from the website rather than a saved file from your computer or mobile. I think that's what I did when I posted gifs on profiles.

Seeing as though it doesn't simply let you upload images and gifs on profiles or in pm but on the forums and threads it's easy.. I don't understand why they haven't made it the same upload style site wide yet.

That's the only issue about it.. It's image hosting, so if you want to post pictures and gifs they need to be active links. Any gif online should work fine unless the website no longer exists then the gif will just say failed to load at some point or this image is no longer available..

As it's the same in pm if you want to send pitures, you can upload your images to a image hosting website for free and it will create a 'live link' for that image and you can use the copy image link to send the picture in chat.

I wonder why this site makes it so complicated I have tried to get GIFs as my banner but that doesn't work.

Just one of those things, I imagine it's been brought up more than a few times. The gif banner thing, I think it's because they only support still images on those, I've tried before on previous profiles.
