I was banned unfairly

I was banned because i posted, humorously, a sweet gif picture of a dog licking a kid - when others were posting pornographic pictures - not because i objected to them but i didn't like the turn of the discussion. No sexual implication or invitation went with the post ... and I do admit that I hadn't considered the 'rules' as such when I posted it. This is especially so given that for most of the time people wander into the room and wonder why it is called the "Naughty Room".
It seems arbitrary and capricious to ban someone who is not disrupting or offending the general population of the chat or especially the regulars there who seem to accept me as a moderating and genial and never disrupting member of the chat. There have been many over the last few weeks who could have been banned for being extremely unpleasant, flaming and violent. Not me.

So how long does this exile last - not for life i hope - I'd feel bereft. - Especially, whatever the general rules, there are issues of (a) intent (b) proportionality.
